Note: Unit shown below is the 3000 solar setup with 30-watt panel. A 20-watt panel is slightly smaller.

You will need to purchase a deep-cycle marine battery with around a 50-amp hour storage. If reserve capacity is all that is given on the battery, multiply the RC by .4167 to determine amp hour storage.

Tip: If you can buy a true deep-cycle battery rather than the marine/rv hybrid battery then do that.  

We recommend at least 6' of galvanized ground rod (1/2"-5/8" diameter) to properly ground this system for maximum shock.

This system can efficiently energize(6-10kv) up to 2 miles of 9-strand mixed-metals Polybraid, single strand and ~ 6 miles of 12.5 ga hi-tensile. Results do vary depending on the quality of grounding system, soil conductivity, soil type, moisture content, etc,..  

Here are the proper steps for connecting your solar components.

1: Connect the +/- leads of the included 24" battery leadset to the charge controller and then the battery. The battery and charge controller must be connected before connecting the solar panel to the charge controller. Failure to connect or disconnect in the proper sequence will damage your charge controller.

2: Connect the +/- solar panel leads to charge controller. 

3: Connect the +/- 12v leads from energizer directly to battery posts. 

Optional: There is wiring for the "Load" on the charge controller for the energizer to connect to, but we recommend connecting the energizer directly to the battery instead.
