These are the most used reels in our reel collection. Primarily because paddock lengths on irrigated pasture do not exceed 1320'. Animal grazing and watering behavior changes as your pastures get larger which can affect weight gain, nutrient distribution, forage recovery, so on and so forth. Another reason the 1/4-mile reel is the most common is simply the size and weight. The average grazier is much more comfortable with the 10-11 lbs. setup on the 1/4-mile reel versus the 17-18 lbs. on 1/2-mile reels.
