For long lasting, highly conductive, easy-to-see fencing, 12.5 ga hi-tensile, galvanized, smooth wire is the top choice for perimeter and interior cross fencing. On the perimeter, 4-5 strands is preferred for cattle and small ruminants. For interior subdividing, 1-2 strands is all you need when dealing with cattle. For sheep & goats 3-4 wires are usually required.
